In the first-ever final of the PKL Season 11, Haryana Steelers top their table; automatically made them contenders for the league. The whole season had great form for the group and was only reinforced by an efficient match in an ending on Saturday evening in Pune against Patna. Their path to the final was not as simple as expected, but the extent of teamwork and their mentality set them apart from their competitors.

The final match marked a befitting summation of the season, bringing the Haryana Steelers to battle the Patna Pirates, who finished in the second position in Season 10. Therefore, the Patna Pirates set out with plans of clinching the title this time around, while the Haryana Steelers prepared to fight to the finish, showcasing skill, determination, and team spirit.

An Impressive Final: Haryana Steelers Treading On Towards Dominance

Opening the match fiercely, Haryana Steelers showed they meant business at the very start, with developer Shivam Patare and Mohammadreza Shadloui taking ownership over the game to control proceedings early. The Patna Pirates and its leading lights, Devank & Ankit, had their filled hands to stay afloat in the contest, but up stepped the resilient Haryana Steelers, characterized by stalwarts Jaideep and Rahul Sethpal. The impenetrability showed by the defensive unit of the Haryana Steelers made scoring as much a feat against the Patna Pirates.

Fairly evenly played in the first half, with Haryana Steelers going slight ahead, 15 to 12 at half time, and with all-round ensemble performances never giving up the lead throughout the season. With time running out, the ever-reliable Shadloui and Vinay did their duty to further stretch the lead. The result was a history-making 32-23 finish when the horn blew, marking their first-ever title at the PKL level.

Win bringing Key Players

There were many players who played a major role in the victory of Haryana Steelers in the finals, but the stellar performances really came from Shivam Patare, Mohammadreza Shadloui, and Vinay as they pumped the attack of the team with vital points and kept the Patna Pirates under the pump.

  • Shivam Patare: Scoring 9 points in the finals, Shivam Patare, one of the real key contributors to the team effort, beamed bright through the match for his ability to score those crucial points even in tight situations.
  • Mohammadreza Shadloui: Dubbed as “the Show Stopper”, Shadloui was absolutely brilliant in the finals as he contributed 7 points to the team. His all-round performance in both attack and defense was vital for the team.
  • Vinay: The 6 points he scored during the final was so beneficial in helping the Haryana Steelers stay secure and lead. His calmness under pressure and consistency made him one of the key performers during the match.

Together, these players became the bedrock foundation of Haryana Steelers by assuring the team that they would control the match and get the title.

Beating the Haryana Steelers: A Wall of Strength Defense

While the attacking unit of Haryana Steelers has captured most of the space, the defence was equally impressive. Jaideep and Rahul Sethpal were integral in stopping Patna Pirates from gaining any momentum. Their exceptional positioning and timing made it very hard for Patna Pirates to score points. The performance at the end made an argument for regarding them as one of the best defense units in the competition.

For Haryana, the defence was not just to keep an attacking opponent from scoring but also about exerting pressure such that mistakes would be forced into the opposition. There were efforts in defence to ensure Patna Pirates scored only 23 points in that final, an impressive feat validated by how good the strategy and execution of the defence were.

The Prize and Celebration

This means Haryana Steelers pocketed a whopping INR 3 crore in prize money. By being the runners-up, the Patna Pirates took home INR 1.8 crore. Thus, this jackpot entered the Haryana Steelers’ books as a new pinnacle in their endeavors, making them one of the most successful franchises in PKL history.

There was much jubilation and excitement in the celebration after the final match when the Haryana Steelers and their supporters were savoring every bit of the moment. Owing to their historic success, the season has triggered celebrations all over Haryana, as fans are extremely proud of their team.

Haryana Steelers Conclude It with a Decisive Victory at the PKL Season 11

The historic win in first-ever PKL title is worthy for both the team itself and its millions-strong fan base. The Haryana Steelers played a dominating final against the Patna Pirates, conclusively proving why they deserved to be called champions of the PKL Season 11. With some flashy displays from the likes of Shivam Patare, Mohammadreza Shadloui, and Vinay, the Haryana Steelers have proven that they are here to stay in the Pro Kabaddi League.
